| Title: "Reindeer Run" Alaskan Reindeer | Palmer, Alaska Stock # PDC 215 Medium: Photography | Color Print on glossy paper Size: 20" w by 16" L $ 175.00 Size: 14" w by 11" L $ 95.00 Description: Alaskan Reindeer running for their dinner that was just put out. The reindeer is about 4 feet (1.2 m) tall at the shoulder and is about 6 feet (1.8 m) long. Unlike most other types of deer, both bulls (males) and cows (females) have antlers. The antlers are shed each year and regrow. Reindeer have very wide hooves, a broad muzzle, and thick brown fur. The thick fur traps air, which insulates the reindeer from the cold and helps the reindeer float in water. The reindeer coat has two layers of fur, a dense woolly undercoat and longer-haired overcoat consisting of hollow, air-filled hairs. The outer coat is buoyant to the point that a full third of the animal is always above water. Reindeer are ruminants, having a four-chambered stomach. They eat the leaves of willows and birches, as well as sedges and grasses. This print is treated with an ultra violent protective coating. It will be rolled and inserted into a mailing tube. I will also insert a sheet with information about this print. It will be mailed first class by the U.S. Postal Service and insured. |
