| < Previous Next > Title: "Alaska Snow Dance" by Alaskan Artist Dianne Roberson Hendrix Palmer, Alaska Stock # PD 423 Medium: Photography | Color Print on glossy paper Size: 20" w by 16" h $ 95.00 Size: 14" w by 11" h $ 65.00 Description: Soft powder snow on tree branches taken just down the road from my studio in February.. As the breeze moves them it is like a slow dance as the limbs move slowly with the weight of the new fallen snow. A dramatic winter phenomenon is the building up of hoarfrost on trees. Because the Anchorage area often has several windless days in a row, a thick layer of hoarfrost sometimes builds up on exposed surfaces, turning them a frosty white. In Anchorage, the sun rises around 10:30 a.m. and sets around 3:30 on the shortest day in the winter. Winter temperatures in Anchorage average in the teens, and it gets colder as you go north. Forty-below (Fahrenheit) isn't unusual in Fairbanks. This print is treated with an ultra violent protective coating. It will be rolled and inserted into a mailing tube. I will also insert a sheet with information about this print. It will be mailed first class by the U.S. Postal Service and insured. |
